Privacy

Your songs are yours.

Plain-language summary of how Lyrora handles your writing and your data. Every song is private to you by default.

What we store

Your account details (name and email), the songs you write — lyrics, chords, notes, versions — the ideas you capture, and any audio takes you record. That's it. We store this so the app works across your devices.

What we never do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't make your songs public or searchable unless you choose to share a link.
  • We don't use your lyrics or recordings to train AI models.

AI features

When you use an AI suggestion, only the context needed for that request is sent to the model provider, and only when the relevant toggle is on. With AI switched off, nothing about your song leaves your session for analysis.

Sharing

A song becomes viewable by link only when you turn on its public link, and you can turn it off again at any time. Collaborators you invite by email can edit songs you share with them.

Split sheets & e-signatures

When you send a split sheet for signing, each signer reviews it through an emailed link and confirms with a one-time code. To make that signature verifiable and tamper-evident, we record each signer's name, email, typed signature, the time they signed, and their IP address and device, alongside the agreed splits. We rely on our legitimate interest in a trustworthy signing record for this audit data — not on the consent checkbox, which is simply your agreement to sign electronically.

How long we keep things

Most of your data lives for as long as your account does, and you can delete a song — or your whole account — at any time. The exception is a completed, signed split sheet: because it's a legal record of who owns a song, we keep it and its signature audit trail for up to seven years as evidence in case of a dispute. Signing rounds that are cancelled or never completed are deleted within 60 days, and pending co-writer invites expire after 14 days.

Your data rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and we'll respond within one month. We can honour erasure for most data; for a completed signed split sheet we may need to keep the record where the law lets us retain it to defend a legal claim, and we'll explain if so. Email hello@lyrora.studio to make a request.

Where your data lives

We run Lyrora on trusted providers — hosting (Vercel), database, sign-in and file storage (Google Firebase), and email delivery (Resend) — each under a data-processing agreement. Some are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred there under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses as a backup.

Exporting & deletion

You can export any song as a chord sheet (ChordPro or plain text) and download your recordings at any time. Delete a song and it's gone from our systems.
